It is a very nice place to stay for its rare, specially its location.

They wanted to make me pay 5 euros /day city tax, while the current rate is 1.4 euros / day (I negotiated to paid 2.5 euros /day, which is more than current price).
On their website is written that you have free towels in private rooms, but they wanted to make me pay (which I refused to pay).
The person at desk was not there when I arrived at 22:30 although I had communicated through email my arrival time and I had to wait for them.
The first night the heating system was turned off and it was cold. There was no toilet paper in the restroom and the WC was clogged (which they repaired the following day). The extra blanket in the bedroom was dirty.

Almost 20 minutes for the check-in. The guy didn’t believe on my reservation that included private dathroom even if I had with me the official email from the website. He tried to sell me another room with another price saying that he didn't have any other room available. At the end, I’ve asked to call the owner and, voila! The room appears. dirty room and no wi-fi available.

L'unico aspetto positivo ci è sembrato la perfetta location in città. La struttura è vecchia ma tipica di Venezia, il bagno (comune) è stato sporco per due giorni e con il cestino sempre pieno, la stanza decente ma con nessun isolamento sonoro: abbiamo sentito di notte tutte le volte in cui qualcuno suonava al citofono e la mattina tutti i rumori delle stanze vicine, comprese le chiassose signore delle pulizie.
C'è molto da migliorare.

Posizione eccellente stanza essenziale quasi spartana ma pulita, silenziosa e con un materasso comodissimo personale gentile e disponibile . Consigliato se il badget è limitato. Prezzo ottimo se si considera la media degli alloggi veneziani.

THE worst hostel I've ever been for sure!Be careful Ai Botteri and Backpackers hostels it's in the same thing-"hostel", in the same building with the same stuff-reception!
The reception is not 24 7!
There were no lockers in the room that I have been!
Air condition is only in some rooms!
Bad cleanliness!
Αnd....Although there were no signs about the hours that the outdoor public terace could be used they forced me with a military way at 10:00 to leave the place because the owner wanted to sleep and not make noise although it was only me and just having a cigarette and no noise at all!!!
Pay a little more and get yourself a desent hostel in Venice!

I mostly did not like the rooms because of windows. it was impossible to breathe for me. There was not open window. And the most important thing for me is kitchen in the hostel. But there was not even tea pot,and it was not clean. There were not plugs around by bed so I could not charge my phone as well. One plug was away from my bed. I could not say staff was friendly but it was okay. This hostel was okay but not good.

The wifi didn't work in the rooms, which was a hassle. I was told it was only expected to work in the common areas and hallways, which it mostly did. Was expecting to be able to work from my room, though. It would have been good to know that wouldn't be an option before I booked the reservation.

The hotel was a total scam, I paid for a private room and they gave me a shared bathroom, when I claimed they did not have more rooms available and they gave us a room that apparently was not in service, the bathroom was dirty with hairs in the shower and toilet, the air did not work, the towel dirty, and in the bathroom there was a leak so the floor was full of water, which had also caused the floor to look sharp. We said we were going to call the police for the scam and we were told that the next day the manager would meet us and we would return some money, the manager never came. It's the worst hotel I've ever been to.

The kitchen & bathroom are dirty, the AC is dripping water all night, the breakfast and towels are not included, unlike what's announced on the website, and most of all I left my bag at the reception and when I came back topick it up, nobody was at reception (lunch break) so I waited 15 minutes in the street and missed my train to leave Venezia. The girl who showed up didn't speak English
This place is poorly-managed, run-out and to avoid at all costs in Venezia. Bad experience !

It was better than I thought...spacious rooms. Kitchen could be better equipped but you probably do not want people to cook there. Good location.

The place is trully awful. It's dirty and stuffy. Bathrooms on our floor had no hot water most of the time. If you are counting on cooking there to save money DON'T. The kitchen and fridge are very dirty. There are not many utensils. Everything (pans, door handles, floors, tables)just needs a good scrub. Blankets are old and smelly and I didn't dare to walk barefoot on the carpets. Beds are super saggy, so it felt like sleeping in a hammock. Our double bed was in fact two singles put together, so not really great for a couple. Bathrooms are bare and dirty and some don't even have a lock. Shabby and dirty place. I would not recommend it at all to anybody.

The hostel was excellent. Everything neat, the bed was cozy, the bathroom really clean and new. Enough space in the room, great view from the window. We were given keys, so it was possible to come at any time. Also the location could not be better, just in the middle of everything, yet there was no noise. The best choice for a very reasonable price, it made our holiday much better. And What's more, there was also a very friendly hostel cat to cuddle with.

Esattamente quello che cercavamo in centro struttura semplice pulita senza grosse pretese personal gentile ma la cosa più importante era quella non dovere prendere sempre il vaporetto che costa 8 euro a Viaggio quindi la scelta di stare in centro storico oltre all'esperienza unica ti fa risparmiare un sacco di soldi e un sacco di tempo (che non ha prezzo) Se non sei complicato, e non hai grosse pretese questo posto è per te

I got awful bedbugs from this place. Gross and dirty. Called to ask for my money back and no one returned my calls. The electricity turned off while I was there and trying to do work (therefore no WiFi) and the staff was rude in answering simple questions.

Great property in the heart of Venice, very close to Rialto's bridge and the main points of interest. I had a great time at Ai Boteri, for sure when I'll be back in Venice I'll book here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights. The check in was pretty uncomplicated and we were able to store our luggage until we could get to our rooms.
The private double rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the shared bathroom was alright (warm water, sufficiently clean).
The stuff was pretty friendly.

I cannot speak about the dorms since we didn't see any of those.

The kitchen is open 24h and there is everything available you could need. It's not very clean though but that's mostly because of the people staying at the hostel themselves.
The balcony was a nice touch. And the Wi-Fi worked most of the time.

We would have liked for someone to answer the hostel phone when we tried to contact them before our arrival. Sadly no one did, which left us a little confused.

The booking action could be easier and a little more transparent.

All in all we enjoyed staying at ai boteri.

Everything was good except the problem of bathroom. In a bathroom, there wasn't hot water, in an another bathroom there wasn't a key so there was just one bathroom for 2 floors!

A decent place to stay that was one of the lower-priced hostels, but the first night I stayed, they turned off the heat and the hot water, so in the morning, it was so cold! Some of the staff was very friendly- the female who I checked out with was nice, but the man I checked in with was kind of rude. No breakfast- the man mentioned something about a ticket I needed to buy for a place next door, but had no info.

Only stayed there for a night and am happy that I didn't have to stay longer.
The staff was nice and helpfull, so no complaints from that side.

The place itself I wouldn't recommend if you are not in total and urgent need like I was.
The price for the night in the low season did not at all justify the quality you got there. Furniture was old and broken, the beds were well worn, the lights in the hallway were broken so at some point you had to go to almost complete darkness, the bathroom was not really clean, didn't have toilet paper for a whole day and the shower didn't have hot water. After not even a minute in the shower the water turned cold and I had to walk through the whole hostel searching for another shower in a tiny, moldy bathroom were it stank and where you didn't want to put your stuff anywhere cause it was so dirty.

The kitchen and terrace were ok though. Things were broken there as well but at least it was clean and had a big table.

Most of the rooms face the alley which is full with restaurants and shops, so bear in mind that it's also really loud even with closed windows.

HORRIBLE! There was absolutely no one at the reception when I arrived at the hostel at 11pm. No one was opening the door. The manager wasn’t picking his phone either. I had to spend the entire night on their sofa after some kind customers inside let me in. Their receptionist only arrived at 9am next morning, and then the manager was extremely rude and wanted to charge me money for sitting on their sofa all night.
Oh, and they don’t have hot water either.

Posizione ottima, a due passi da rialto. L'ostello in sé è carino, ma il rapporto qualità/prezzo non lo ho trovato buono. In stanza non c'è spazio per appoggiare le proprie cose, e le porte dei bagni non si chiudevano a chiave. Consigliato per chi quindi è di passaggio, desidera una posizione centrale e non deve fermarsi molte notti. Buono per la tranquillità e silenziosità, si dorme senza disturbi.

Posizione comodissima, camere abbastanza confortevoli anche se piccole. Ma un grosso punto a sfavore nella mia esperienza è stato trovarmi a dividere la camera anche con un uomo dopo aver prenotato un posto letto in una camera esclusivamente femminile.

No worries about bad reviews it's really a great place to stay let's start from the location it's really one minute walk from Rialto Bridge Our room was simple clean there are old ( storica furniture) every where who makes this place really special

Accomodation is very very basic. For the price I was quite disappointed. Bedroom was very hot, and didn't have proper air conditioning, meaning a very noisy fan had to be left on. There are very few power sockets in the bedroom, and no lockers meaning it is hard to feel your stuff is safe. I also think the beds might have bed bugs as I have a couple of itchy bites On the plus the location is good and staff are nice.

Avevo prenotato una camera doppia con bagno privato,mi sono trovata una camera con bagno fuori dalla stanza in comune con tutto il piano..chiedendo alla reception spiegazioni hanno insistito dicendo che quello era un bagno privato....mah,per me privato vuol dire che ci posso andare solo io! Ostello da evitare

Posizione eccellente, a dieci minuti a piedi da S. Marco, staff gentile e disponibile. Pecche: da fuori non si riconosce il posto,sarebbe quindi molto gradita un'insegna, non c'è il pos per pagare con la carta (nel 2016!), la pulizia scarseggiava nel bagno e nella moquette in camera, e il lavandino in camera non funzionava.

Posizione comodissima, molto economico: ma scarsa pulizia e manutenzione. C'era l'aria condizionata ma nessuno ci ha detto come attivarla e ha funzionato solo la terza notte.

Non è un'esperienza che assolutamente ripeterei. Solo la collocazione trova corrispondenza con quanto scritto sul sito. Il WI-Fi praticamente non funziona, almeno nelle camere. Della colazione, pagata, non ho mai potuto usufruire; mi era stata detto che veniva servita alle 8:30 (ora impossibile per i miei impegni), ma poi anche il giorno che sono uscita dopo le 8:30 la colazione non c'era. Sulla moquette della stanza c'erano ancora varie tracce del soggiorno precedente (patatine,...) e sul davanzale delle finestre cicche di sigarette. La parola semplice con cui viene descritto l'arredamento sul sito è un eufemismo, 2 stampelle in ferro per riporre i vestiti, un vecchio ventilatore, lampadine mancanti, scuri scrostati, contenitori del sapone vuoti, ...Il terrazzino poi avrebbe bisogno di un bel po' di manutenzione a cominciare dall'eliminazione delle erbacce e sistemazione dei tavoli. Venezia ha la reputazione di essere cara, ma ho scoperto che per lo stesso prezzo si trova di molto meglio

Nonostante le recensioni poco rincuoranti (bad bugs, no acqua calda), devo dire che non ho avuto troppi problemi. L'unica pecca: la pulizia delle camere. Passatela ogni tanto una spazzata alla polvere del pavimento e della mobilia ogni tanto! Per il resto, no problem!

Nel complesso Molto buono, economico, ottima posizione, personale disponibile, pulito. Unica pecca la mancanza di riscaldamento attivo durante il nostro soggiorno, ma vista la stagione ancora incerta posso supporre non fosse ancora stato attivato (in quanto l'impianto era presente nelle camere).

Veloce da raggiungere dalla stazione e vicinissimo a Rialto.
La colazione però non era inclusa..quello che c'è scritto nella descrizione è sbagliato!
Lo staff è stato molto gentile, mi hanno fornito una mappa della città e permesso di lasciare il mio bagaglio anche dopo il check out.
Camere semplici ma pulite!
L'unica pecca il bagno...nuovo e bello ma da pulire un po' di più'...essendo solo due per piano a fine giornata erano sporchini.

L'ostello Ai Boteri é situato in una posizione ideale per poter girare la cittá e raggiungere tutti i luoghi di maggiore interesse, lo staff é estremamente gentile e disponibile. In definitiva il rapporto qualitá prezzo é ottimo. Consigliato
