This is the only Hostel on the Lake Maggiore. A wonderful villa of 19th century. More than 90 place in rooms with 2, 4, 6 or 10 beds.
Property information
The Verbania Hostel is a gracious and elegant health resort resting on the banks of Lago Maggiore, and has an unbeatable character. There's a lot here to make your vacation fun: the mild climate, bathing facilities and excellent tourist services. You can ski only 4 km away at the Mottarone ski area, take trips to Monte Rosa, to the Valgrande National Park, and to the Natural Parks of the Devero and Veglia. Or you can take a boat to the Borromean Islands or to the nearby city of Stressa. Switzerland awaits only a few dozen kilometers away.
Our Hostel is associated to Hostelling International. So, to overnight here, is required the International Youth Hostels federation Card. If you don't have yet, you can buy it here at your arrival at €3,00 more.

How to get there
The city of Verbania offers to its guests a lot of opportunities for fun like sport, culture, cuisine, pleasure for all the family embraced by the fantastic natural setting of the Lake.
You can choose among excursions to Monte Rosa or to the Natural Park of ValGrande, guided tours to the Natural Parks Alpe Devero and Alpe Veglia, boat outings to the Borromeo Islands or to the city of Stresa, you can visit the next Switzerland and ski into next ski resorts.

Verbania is about 100 Km from Milan and 30 Km from Locarno (Switzerland)
BY PLANE
From Milano Malpensa, you can reach Verbania:
Taking the bus “Alibus”, service on call.
This service is available from Friday April, 15th to Thursday September, 30th 2011.
You can book your travelling, choosing among fixed timetables, before h 11.00 of the day before the departure. For departures on Sunday and Monday you have to book before h 11.00 of previous Saturday.
Get off in Pallanza, Piazza Gramsci, take via Marconi and follow signs to the Hostel for about 850 meters walking.
From Milano Linate:
By special bus Linate Airport/central train station of Milan, then by train.
BY TRAIN
From central train station of Milan:
Train to Domodossola: get off in Verbania Pallanza
- exit the train station and take the bus Omegna- Verbania Trobaso (direction Trobaso)
- Get off in Pallanza, Piazza Gramsci (about 20 minutes)
- Take via Marconi and follow signs to the Hostel for about 850 meters walking
Nord Rails Milano -Varese – get off in Laveno Mombello, then boat from Laveno to Verbania Intra

Really nice hostel (and the only accomodation in the area for such kind of money). Good place to stay, lovely area.
It's weird that there were no locks in the bathroom and toilets.
Breakfast was fine and tasty, which is a big plus.

I definitely had a good experience with this hostel. It was ideal for simply a place to sleep while in Verbania and at a very good price as well.

*Docce che non chiudono tranne una ma sempre porca !
* Ragazzo che viene a fare la doccia in mezzo alle ragazze (il 30, di sera)!
*Poca indicazione (cartellone) per arrivare all'ostello a piedi.
*La sveglia rumorosissima di ragazze tedesche che suona alle 7.00 la mattina e nessuno si alza per spegnerla (e questo tutte le mattine...).
*Le stesse ragazze che tornano ogni notte alle 2.00 e fanno un chiasso del diavolo, accendono la luce senza preoccuparsi di chi dorme...
*Assenza di locale per le biciclette.
*Prezzi (menù e Internet) carissimi !

We went there during Haloween time, so if we except the young witches and freaks from the city who were meeting there during the day, the hostel was pretty empty. It was clean and it is located in a quiet and nice neighbourhood. We recommand it!
