How to get there
Generator is situated on the Giudecca Island right overlooking San Mark’ Square. It is just 10 minutes from St. Mark's square with the boat. The hostel is situated on the Giudecca Island overlooking Saint Mark Square.
Getting to the hostel could not be easier with the Vaporetto lines (4.1 4.2 and 2) throughout the day and night.
If you arrive by airplane:
BY BOAT - From Marco Polo main airport go to the little harbor (250 mt outside the terminal turn on your left) where you can find the public boat. “Alilaguna” (www.alilaguna.it) which arrives after 1h40min to Giudecca Island. Our stop is called Zitelle. The hostel is 100 mt on your right.
BY BUS - From Treviso Airport - RyanAir or other low-cost flight companies provide private shuttle for passengers who have to go to Venice Piazzale Roma - more details: ATVO
Catch the vaporetto #2 or #4.1 to Giudecca Island & get-off at Zitelle. Cost of boats tickets is euro 7,00 one person one way, but at the ticket offices you can buy 1 or 2 days pass.
BY BUS - Outside arrival terminal bus #5 or ATVO bus to Venice Piazzale Roma – then walk to the public boat standing & catch vaporetto #2 or #4.1 to Giudecca Island & get-off at Zitelle. Cost of boats tickets is euro 7,00 one person one way, but at the ticket offices you can buy 1 or 2 days pass.
TIP! It is always good to get a 24-48 hour pass as it allows you to travel all around the small islands in the laguna (eg Burano, Murano, Lido). Tickets can be bought ONLINE for some extra saving
If you arrive by train:
Get out the main train station Santa Lucia, you'll find the vaporetto stop right outside by the tickets offices, get on number #2 or #4.1 direction to Giudecca Island.. Boat line #2 stop and start from platform on your left whilst the boat # 4.1 on your right. Our stop is called Zitelle and the hostel is 100mt on your right.
TIP! If your age is between 6 and 29 you can buy online the VENICE CARD that will give you access to a number of various discount in the city
If you arrive by car:
We suggest to park at Tronchetto - it's a very big car parking. you'll see it driving through the long bridge which connect Venice to the mainland - once you arrive at the end of the bidge at the traffic light turn right & follow the signals (but if you prefer there are other 2 big car-parking in Piazzale Roma). The cost is around euro25,00 per day. If you park at Tronchetto, there is a little way to go to the public boats standing where you can catch vaporetto#2 and in 15 minute you'll get off at Palanca.
If you park in Piazzale Roma (main e terminal station for cars & buses) walk to the public boat standing & get on #2 or #4.1 to Giudecca Island in 20/15 minutes. The stop is Zitelle and the hostel is 100mt on your right.

What a fun, millennial, hip place to go to! I was traveling by myself and stayed in all female room and everyone was so friendly and social. Great quiet location, but so close to everywhere in Venice! Definitely would recommend! Only thing was the air conditioning wasn’t very strong.

Very nice hostel, very clean. Staff was polite, but not very friendly. The location is ok, but far from downtown and you have to take a vaporetto to get there (15 euros per way), what turns it to be a bit more expensive if you are there just for a night.

As much as I like this place and the amazing staff, I was awake this morning because of the people unable to close a door quietly and not respecting each other's sleep, this is simply impossible. i was considering coming for the Mostra but I can't do that and except so much noise.

The staff was effecient and helpful. The building is gorgeous with exposed brick, tiled floors, and high ceilings lined with wood beams. The rooms are on the smaller side, and although I stayed in a 16 bed dorm-room, I never felt like there were that many people in there. The bunk beds are solid and positioned so that you have privacy. Plus each bed comes with a nook, a power outlet, and a light. On top of that there is under the bed storage (bring your own lock). The beds were comfortable and the blanket provided was very cozy and warm. Lastly, be advised, while they do have a kitchen it is not for guest use. There is no way to prepare your own meal but the prices are fairly reasonable (E5 for breakfast and E9 for dinner).

Bellissimo ostello, bella l'atmosfera e molto disponibile tutto il personale. Pulito e confortevole. Il fatto di essere alla Giudecca è eccezionale per la vista ma pone alcuni problemi per raggiungere l'ostello (orari e prezzi dei traghetti). Consigliabilissimo!

It was just brilliant to stay at your accommodation, your staff were so friendly and helpful over our stay in Venice. The location is also brilliant in Venice and with a very good connection to the public transport. However, the price for two nights it's a small disadvantage, because we payed 96€ per person without breakfast in an 8 person bedroom . All in all I would recommend the hostel and probably come back on day!

The staff was SO nice & accomodating! It felt extremely safe. They provided a map and directions into Venice. And it was only €1.25 (one-way) to take the train and in less than 10 minutes you were on the main island of Venice. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back!

I stay in this hostel whenever I travel to Venice. People whose stay lasts up to two days could possibly prefer a hostel based closer to the city centre, given that you need to cross the channel to get to this one.

Great facilities overall, some more clothes hangers in the dorms would be appreciated. Breakfast was a bit disappointing for the price. Great staff, good location, clean. Highly recommended!

Venice is wonderful city. I shocked by such beauty. I have stayed in this hostel for 2 nights. I liked the hostel very much. staff of hostel were very polite. I also liked the location. I bought a ticket for travel on the vaporetto for two days .I visited the islands of Murano and Burano. The breakfast was good for a reasonable price. I recommend this hostel

Hi great time but on arriving very late to the hostel I got to my bed and no duvet or pillow and as was so late and tired I slept without them. In the morning told reception and they said they would sort it out but again the same thing in the evening. This time I had a pillow but still no doubt. The guy from reception did come and sort it but not enough duvets in the cupboard so he just pinched one from another hostellers bed so I suspect she had a chilly broken nights sleep too as I noticed that in the morning she still didn't have a duvet. So more douvets needed at the hostel perhaps.

Nel complesso l'ostello mi è piaciuto molto, gli ambienti interni sono caldi e accoglienti e la giudecca è molto pittoresca. Le pecche principali sono state: la colazione troppo cara per la scarsa qualità e lo scarso assortimento (il prosciutto stile Germania non si può proprio vedere, e la frutta sciroppata sarebbe da cambiare con della frutta fresca, piuttosto non in macedonia ma intera), il bagno è troppo piccolo, nella camerata mista c'era un po' puzza di piedi, capisco che in 14 persone sia dura evitarlo, bisognerebbe mettere un impianto di ventilazione...

Ho soggiornato in una doppia all'ultimo piano, tranquilla per essere un ostello. Clientela molto giovane e internazionale. Se non si ha fretta di raggiungere il centro di Venezia, si trova in una posizione con una bella visuale. Si potrebbe migliorare solo la colazione.

Risolvere problemi di allagamento pavimento bagno spazio antistante doccia.
Creare mini luci per chi rientra in camerata dopo la mezzanotte e non debba necessariamente accendere le luci generali, che infastidiscono gli altri ospiti.
